Our Mission
As a 501(c)3 non-profit, MBMentors volunteers are a diverse team of individuals brought together by the mission to advise, support and empower entrepreneurs and small business owners. We do this with our skills, experiences, knowledge, talents and abilities to help you start, run and grow your businesses.
We provide our most of our services at no cost to clients. Our team members are driven by their desire to give back to the Minnesota business community by helping anyone who requests our services. Our goal is to help you succeed in your business venture.

Founded in March 2020, MB Mentors is a premier source of free small business advice for entrepreneurs and established small businesses owners. MB Mentors is staffed by current and former business owners and experienced executives with the objective of helping people move their companies forward.
We are a non-profit, all-volunteer company that focuses on these core competencies:

Free and confidential mentoring/coaching.

Free workshops and webinars on a variety of topics pertinant to small business owners and startups.

Free business plan guidance. We use LivePlan software at no cost to our clients who need a lean or traditional business plan.

Women's Collective Lab. By and for women in business. We offer free business educational meetings and networking opportunities for women entrepreneurs and small business owners.

CEO Roundtables formed and facilitated by experienced business leaders. These are peer-to peer monthly meetings helping CEOs learn, grow and move their companies forward. We charge a small annual fee to join these tables.

We formed MB Mentors to allow our mentors to more closely tailor their advising and coaching to our client’s specific needs. We do this by:

We don't measure our success by how many times you come back - we only care about providing what you need when you need it.

Our clients can self-schedule online appointments by either phone, email, or Zoom.

We create alliances with organizations that support entrepreneurs and local businesses like chambers, economic development departments, business associations, MeetUp groups, and more.

Maintaining the client-mentor relationship from business startup to the business sale.

We never request donations or ask for fundraising from clients.

MB Mentors is a business mentoring organization. We are not consultants or financial advisors. MBM provides advice on starting and running businesses. This includes but not limited to, marketing, operations, sales, leadership and more. Accordingly, MB Mentors will assist and guide clients in the preparation of business and financial plans as described below, but is precluded from actually producing a final product for the client. We recommend you work with a CPA or financial planner.
Although some of our volunteers might come professional backgrounds (i.e., Legal, Accounting, Engineering, Medical, etc), MBMentors volunteers are strictly forbidden from providing any advice to clients that could be interpreted or construed as acting in a legal or finance/ accounting capacity.
