Linda Rening, PhD
Linda spent the last 25 years of her career working in corporate training and Instructional Design positions. She retired from Board International, a software-as-service company, where she served as Sr. Director of Training. During her time there she built the customer training function from the ground up including hiring a team of eight, working with other functions in the organization to identify needs, creating policies and procedures, and setting the instructional strategy for both eLearning and Instructor-led Training. Prior to Board International, Linda was Director of Training for Anaplan, a San Francisco-based software company. In that role she supervised a team of 15 Instructional Designers, Trainers, Learning Management System Specialists, and Program Managers.
In both roles, she balanced the needs of her teams with the needs of the corporation and the customers they were serving. In addition, she was responsible for up to $5.7M budget and monthly financial reporting to senior management and executive leadership.
Linda worked in other corporate settings include BI Worldwide and Carlson Learning Company. In all her roles, she worked to assess organizational needs and created learning materials relative to identified needs. She is comfortable teaching and making presentations as well as working collaboratively with diverse groups to accomplish larger goals. She is a skilled facilitator and an experienced mentor.
