MBMentors is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit all-volunteer organization, and we are looking for volunteers to support our mission of helping entrepreneurs and small businesses throughout Minnesota. If you have a passion to assist business people and have 5 - 12 hours a month available, consider becoming an MBMentor team member! 

Open Positions

  • The goals and objectives of MBM’s CEO Roundtable Forums™ include:

    • Networking: Building valuable connections with other business leaders and expanding one’s professional network.

    • Knowledge-Sharing: Exchanging experiences, insights, and ideas that can help participants improve their organizations.

    • Problem-Solving: Tackling common business challenges and finding solutions through collective brainstorming.

    • Skill Development: Enhancing leadership communication and decision-making skills through peer-to-peer learning.

     

    Volunteer Position Description 

    We are seeking multiple Roundtable Facilitators to lead engaging and productive discussions with small business leaders in the Twin Cities area.  The ideal candidates will possess excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage diverse groups and encourage meaningful discussions. As a roundtable facilitator, you will guide participants through group-centered discussions, ensuring all voices are heard and the group stays focused.

     

    MBM Facilitators are responsible for managing the discussion process. They create the supportive environment where group members feel comfortable having open and confidential discussions as they exchange ideas, suggestions, and experiences.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Facilitation: Lead roundtable discussions, ensuring an inclusive, respectful, and productive atmosphere where all participants are encouraged to contribute.

    • Engagement: Create a positive environment by fostering open dialogue, asking probing questions, and facilitating idea-sharing and problem solving among participants.

    • Conflict Resolution: Mediate any disagreements or conflicts, ensuring respectful communication and smooth group dynamics.

    • Feedback: Summarize key takeaways and action items from each meeting, providing feedback to participants.

    • Documentation: take notes to ensure accurate records of the conversation, highlighting significant insights or recommendations.

     

    Qualifications:

    Experience in facilitating group discussions, workshops, or meetings.

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with diverse groups.

    • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.

    • Ability to maintain neutrality, encourage participation, and ensure that conversations remain productive and on topic.

    • Comfortable managing time and guiding group centered discussions.

    • Ability to summarize and document outcomes and follow-up action points.

     

    Time Commitment

    We have three different types of Roundtables. All are held 1/2 day a month (third Thursday) 

    • Roundtable #1 meets 10 months of the year. Off in August and December.

    • Roundtable #2 meets 8 months of the year (October - May)

    • Roundtable #3 meets 6 times a year (every other month)

     

    Additional 1/2 day of administrative work is needed for each Roundtable. 

  • As a volunteer mentor or business coach with MBMentors, you'll be part of a volunteer organization committed to giving back. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to help individuals start, run, and expand their businesses, all at absolutely no cost to them.

    We especially need people with experience In: Financial Management/Banking/Social Media/Retail/ Restaurant/Website Development/SEO. 

    If you have expertise in any of these areas, or just want to use your business skills to help others, we want you on our team!

     

    Time Commitment: 10 - 15 hours a month.

MBMentors is a 501(c)3 non-profit. We are financially sustained by the funds provide by individuals and organizations who align with our mission and donate to support our organizations’ work. We are all volunteers who give our time, talents, skills and knowledge to help entrepreneurs and small business owners get started and grow. Our advising, webinars, and business plan support are all free for anyone use and attend. By supporting us, you are supporting small businesses create new jobs.
