We are looking for mentors in the Twin Cities and Rochester areas
Time Commitment: 8 - 12 hours a month

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join MB Mentors, a dedicated 501(c)(3) all-volunteer non-profit organization.
Our mission is to advise, support, and empower entrepreneurs and small business owners in the Minnesota business community by providing our skills, experiences, and knowledge—mostly at no cost.
This is a volunteer position vital to maintaining the high quality and commitment of our team. The primary focus of this role is to manage the initial stages of the volunteer recruitment and onboarding process.
Key Responsibilities-
Volunteer Interviewing: Conduct initial interviews with prospective volunteers to assess their skills, experience, alignment with MB Mentors' mission, and commitment level.

Application Review: Review volunteer applications, resumes, and relevant materials to identify suitable candidates for mentoring and administrative roles.

Coordination: Schedule and manage interview times with candidates and relevant internal stakeholders (when necessary).

Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for new volunteer applicants, providing timely updates on their application status and answering initial questions.

Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential records of all volunteer applications, interview notes, and onboarding progress.

Process Improvement: Offer recommendations to refine the volunteer recruitment and interview process to enhance efficiency and candidate experience.
Qualifications and Skills

Experience: Previous experience in Human Resources, recruiting, interviewing, or a similar role is preferred.

Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to establish rapport quickly and conduct professional, engaging interviews.

Organization: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, capable of managing multiple applications and communication threads simultaneously.

Mission Alignment: A genuine passion for the mission of MB Mentors—supporting and empowering small business owners and entrepreneurs.

Professionalism: High degree of professionalism, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information.

Technology Proficiency: Comfort with standard digital communication tools (email, video conferencing) and basic database/spreadsheet management.

CEO Roundtable Facilitator
MB Mentors is an all volunteer 501(c)3 organization dedicated to helping entrepreneurs and small business owners start, run and grow their businesses. We actively helping small businesses through our free service offerings. Our volunteers are passionate and committed, driving impactful change throughout Minnesota.
Join us in leading engaging discussions that inspire business leaders to connect, learn, and grow! We are looking for dynamic Roundtable Facilitators to guide small groups of small business owners through insightful conversations. As a facilitator, you’ll be instrumental in fostering meaningful networking, problem-solving, and skill-building among peers.
What You’ll Do:

Lead and guide roundtable discussions, ensuring a positive, inclusive atmosphere

Encourage open dialogue, exchange of ideas, and collaborative problem-solving

Keep conversations productive and respectful

Summarize key insights and action items after each session

Help create an environment where business leaders can thrive and learn from each other
What We’re Looking For:

Experience in facilitating group discussions or meetings

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to manage group dynamics and maintain focus

Comfortable with documenting meeting outcomes and follow-ups
Time Commitment:
-
1/2 day per month for roundtable meetings (same day each month) for 10 months. Off in August and December

Additional 1/4 day per month for administrative work

Support Our Mission of Helping Small Businesses Succeed
Founded in 2020, MB Mentors is a 501(c)3 non-profit. We are staffed by volunteers who give their time, talents, skills and knowledge to help entrepreneurs and small business owners get started and grow.
We are available to entrepreneurs and small business owners throughout Minnesota - at no charge. Our mentoring/advising, webinars/workshops, business plans guidance, women's collective lab and online resources are all free. We are self-funded and don't ask for donations.
To the Economic Development Departments in Minnesota cities and counties we welcome the opportunity to connect and explore how we might collaborate to further support startups and business owners in your community.
