In Memoriam  
LOREN HERBST
4/9/36 - 11/27/20

Our friend and associate Loren Herbst died from COVID on Friday, November 27, 2020. Loren was born on April 9th, 1936 to Ernie and Lela Herbst in Shakopee, MN. He was a graduate of Shakopee High School and Gustavus Adolphus College. Loren was married to Ellen (Zimmerman) on April 15th, 1961. Loren was a long-time bank executive at Norwest/Midland. He was active in several civic organizations and was a board member of the former Bethesda Hospital during his banking career.

 

In retirement, Loren served on the founding board of Eagle Ridge Academy, a former member of SCORE, and he was currently serving on the board of directors for SPEDCO and as the Development Director for MBMentors. Loren was anchored in his faith and was active at Wooddale Church. Loren loved being with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed bicycling, playing cards, golf and attending Timberwolves games.

Loren was generous with his time, expertise and enjoyed working with entrepreneurs and small businesses to get them started and growing. He was a mentor to many and will be remembered as someone who loved to give back to the community he lived and worked in.
