Free Business Plan Guidance

A business plan is an important document for any organization - whether you are launching a start-up or growing an established brand you should have a plan in place. Business plans are useful blueprints demonstrating you have considered and assessed the decision points necessary to start and run a successful business venture. The resulting plan provides a roadmap of relevant information for both you as the business owner, and possible investors to assess the viability of the venture. In addition, business plans are a useful tool when seeking partners, employees, and affiliations with other organizations.

Types of Business Plans

Lean Plan

A lean business plan is typically one-page. This type of plan provides a quick overview of your company. The layout of the lean plan is easy to understand, the information provided is very focused, it shows connections between the elements and it is easy to communicate.

Pitch Deck

A pitch deck is a visual representation of your business plan. It's typically a slide deck giving a short summary of your company, business plan and startup vision.  If you are looking for investors it includes how they will make money.

Mini Plan

A mini plan is a summarized version of a comprehensive business plan. This type of plan highlights only the most important points. It helps you identify key strategies and activities to start and grow your business.  It provides information to either build a new business or secure funding.

Consultant Plan

Consultants do things differently.
If you’re a self-employed consultant your work isn't like other forms of business. You're not making and/or selling tangible products. And unlike service companies, you're not employing a team of people to provide solutions. For these reasons, your plan will look different than others

Comprehensive Plan

A comprehensive plan is for either internal or external audiences and provides detailed information to a bank or other financial institution. The plan provides important details about your business (sales, marketing, operations, financials, etc.) and can be 20+ pages. If you are seeking a loan you will most likely need a full business plan.
